This baby is gonna be here before we know it! I'm feeling a little relieved & more comfortable as each week passes. It's nice to know we are in CCN territory instead of NICU territory if I were to go into labor. I've still been feeling pretty well. Even in my most uncomfortable moments, I'm so thankful to be having a normal pregnancy. The pain in my back, hips, feet...it's present but all tolerable. I have an entire corner of my bathroom counter dedicated to hemorrhoid care. That part really sucks, but this baby is growing & very active, so I can deal with anything else.
I was fortunate to have 2 showers. Our moms threw me a Dr. Suess themed baby shower that was adorable! My work friends got together for a lunch shower at B-Dubs that was really relaxed & so much fun! When all was said & done, the only big things from my registry I had to get were my pump, monitor, & mattress. My dad decided he wanted to take care of my pump & monitor, so I got the mattress. So so blessed to have had everything else taken care of for us! I'm really trying to keep everything simple. Babies come with& acquire a lot of "stuff," so I'm trying to really focus on what we NEED & just be thankful for the extras as they come.
I am SO excited that fall is here! The weather has been beautiful! Every fall-scented candle, every leaf that's changing color, every breath I take of crisp morning air makes me that much more excited to bring a baby home at this time of year. All of our throw blankets are washed & ready for snuggling! All of the baby laundry is done, folded & put away. Daniel repainted an old dresser that I grew up with & one that he grew up with. The crib is dressed & ready to go. We have a rock & play sleeper (from fisher price) that the baby will sleep in in our bedroom to start out. We are shampooing the carpets tonight before we go to bed. Everything is really coming together & with each passing day I look forward to meeting this little person :)
