...No matter how fast we are running, somehow we keep up with each other...

Daniel & I have never really celebrated Valentine's Day. We have both agreed that we don't need a holiday to tell us when to give gifts to each other, or when/how to say "I love you." I remember our first Valentine's Day 5 years ago we ordered a big pepperoni pizza & ate a candlelight dinner on the floor of my apartment. That's the extent of our Valentine's Day celebrations. Then came 2010...

Last week Daniel & I were at Circle Centre Mall (we often go there to walk around when we get bored). We stopped in the Coach store to look around, & Daniel asked which of the new bags I liked. After about 20 minutes of close inspection, I picked out the one in the store that was my favorite. We continued walking & looking in different stores, then went home.

Because we have never really done much for Valentine's Day, it wasn't a huge deal to me that I had to work all weekend (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday). It was a busy weekend at work for me. My feet hurt at the end of each shift, along with my back & hips (man what an old lady). When I came home all I wanted to do was eat dinner & go to bed. Well Saturday night, Daniel had a little surprise for me! I got home, he made me dinner, & then he gave me the most beautiful Valentine's gift I have ever received! HE GOT ME THAT NEW COACH PURSE!!! The card he put with it was so sweet...he told me he was excited that this was the year we got to become "Mr. & Mrs. Burklow!" On top of the pretty Coach box were 3 glorious packages of candy! THE BIG BOX of Hot Tamales, THE BIG BOX of Mike & Ikes, & a big bag of Mini Airheads! How much do I love candy? A LOT! Enough that sometimes I have to tell Daniel that I love him more than candy :) (I'm eating my Hot Tamales as I blog hehe) Then I untied the shiny gold bow that adorned the Coach box. I was so excited to find my shiny new purse in the box! Immediately I took the bag out of the box & started transferring my things from my old purse to the new. I think Daniel was excited to see me so excited. He went & got the box that belonged to the Coach bag he got me last Christmas so it could be stored safely. I then made the transfer :)

I wish I could convey in these typed words how adorable & sweet he was. I wish I could find words to explain how loved I feel because of him. Not based on the material things I received, but the glimmer in his eyes & the sheepish grin on his face as he watched me open them. By the tone in his voice when he kissed my forehead & told me Happy Valentine's Day. By the everyday things he does for me like feeding our dogs on the days I have to work; starting my car every morning I have to work; making dinner for us; having my robe & PJs warm & fluffed in the dryer when I get home; helping pack my lunches for me; surprising me with a new box of Capri Suns; the list goes on & on. I believe with all my heart that God put him on this earth for me to love. I hope that I can make Daniel feel half as loved as he makes me feel.

As more snow falls, I hope you can all be safe & warm wherever you are. My heart is full...
