I have been snowed in for 2 days now, & I plan on being snowed in for a 3rd! So there's no excuse why I can't update my blog & recap what's gone on in the last month!
Let's see...the dogs are still as cute as ever...that will never change! I need to take more pictures of them in their sweet & funny moments! Daniel was called back to work a few weeks ago. He hadn't worked for a couple of months because there's not much to do as far as lawn care is concerned in the winter months. He was getting very stir crazy, & is happy to be back! Right now they have him working on company trucks, which he LOVES!! I love a man who isn't afraid to get dirty, so the mechanic hands don't bother me one bit!
I have been so blessed to enjoy a lot of family time lately! My middle sister Merideth turned 22 on Jan. 25th, so we got together for a great family dinner for her birthday. My youngest sister Samantha goes to Franklin College. They have a winter term that they have to take once in their 4 years there, & she chose not to do it this year. This gave her a Christmas break that lasted until February! She is back in classes now, but it was nice having her home more! Since her boyfriend Bobby lives in Rushville, & she visits him every weekend, we have been able to hang out with them a lot more lately. Merideth stays busy with school & work, & it's hard to get together since she lives in Muncie, but she was able to come hang out for the Super Bowl! We made taco soup, beenie weenies, & taco tip...MMMMMM! It's so funny to think about how much we fought when we were kids. They are my best friends in the whole world now!! I am so thankful for them :)
On January 17th my mom & I placed membership at our church! It was such an exciting day for me! It's so easy to let life get away from me, & to let my priorities get out of line. In college I did just that. I didn't make the time I needed to for God in my life. In the last year, I have been putting him first. I had forgotten how good it feels to just trust in Him & let Him lead me. Placing membership at our church technically was no big deal...just 30 seconds in front of the church to confess that we accept Jesus as our one & only Lord & Savior. But it overwhelmingly filled my soul with joy to know that I was putting Him first, & that I had found the church family that fit best with me. It was a very special day, also, because Daniel & his mom came to church with me that day! They were both raised in the Catholic church, so it meant the world to me that they took time away from their church to come support me at mine!
Daniel & I spoke to our preacher about marrying us. He happily agreed to do it, which was exciting for me! My church is really small, so Daniel & I have to find a church to be married in that will fit our family & friends. We both have large families, a great group of friends back home, & I plan on inviting a lot of work friends, so we are going to need the room! I got my dress not long after he proposed. It was the last dress I put on, I didn't think I would like it at all. However, I put it on, it fit like a glove (the only dress in the store they had in my size), & Dave was playing on the radio...I took it home with me that day! Just this past weekend, my sisters came over & I took them shopping to pick out the bridesmaid dresses. I wasn't expecting them to find one they liked that day, but they did! I love the one they picked! It's black, strapless, comes just above the knees, & has POCKETS which I love :) We checked with all the other bridesmaids, they all approved, so that is one more thing I don't have to worry about! Daniel & I went last weekend & picked out our wedding bands. I also found the jewelry I want to get all my bridesmaids. Things seem to be coming together!
Will write more later...going to go curl back up on the couch & enjoy the snow!
xoxo
